The Naira Redesign planned by the CBN has taken effect. In fact the new Naira notes are now officially in circulation. Below are what you need to know as well as what you must do:
1. The old Naira banknotes will cease to be legal tender by JANUARY 31, 2023

3. There will be no charges on cash deposits paid to banks between now and January 31 2023
4. There's no limit to the amount of old 200, 500 and 1000 Naira banknotes you can deposit in your account
5. All banks will keep their currency processing centers open from Monday to Saturday to collect cash deposits from customers.
7. Account opening is easy, visit any bank of your choice or an agent banking location near you to open an account.
8. There are variety of options available to you to access financial services (eNaira, Internet banking, ATMs, cards/POS, USSD shortcodes, etc)
