About The Job
We are seeking experienced and talented Relationship Managers with strong deposit mobilization and customer acquisition skills. Ideal candidates should currently work in a commercial bank and have a minimum of 3 years of sales experience. We have openings for branches in Lagos, Asaba, and Akure.
Responsibilities
Achieve set deposit targets, focusing on growing the balance sheet and generating income by acquiring new customers.
Develop and maintain business contacts with existing and prospective customers to expand the revenue and customer base for the bank’s products and services.
Initiate and agree with customers to up-sell/cross-sell the bank’s products/services and respond to customer inquiries, requests, and issues promptly and satisfactorily.
Assist customers in obtaining approval for new account openings by reviewing all KYC (Know Your Customer) documents and linking customer accounts to the appropriate relationship management support system.
Follow up on prospective sales opportunities from discussions with existing and prospective customers to ensure the conversion of new or repeat business.
Continuously engage the market to acquire new Commerce & SME banking customers by building and nurturing business relationships based on trust, empathy, credibility, and ethical conduct.
Make daily calls to existing and prospective customers to mobilize deposits and other revenue-generating transactions and market other available banking products/services.
Perform customer acceptance checks before onboarding Commerce & SME clients, following the bank’s established policies and procedures.
Advise existing customers on their Commerce & SME objectives and financial needs by analyzing wealth management opportunities, recommending suitable in-house financial solutions, and executing banking and financial transactions based on customer instructions.
Provide ongoing personalized/unique services to account holders and identify potential opportunities for extending basic banking services.
Monitor and support account opening/account reactivation, as well as the review of account opening documents.
Monitor and follow up on value chain customers for onboarding by reviewing/analyzing transaction reports and sorting out value chain prospects.
Consult with the banking services team to ensure proper and timely onboarding of existing customers on the mobile and CIB platform.
Ensure compliance with all accounts in the portfolio, including KYC, audit exceptions, and BVN compliance.
Participate in periodic sales meetings with RM team leads to review various daily reports and discuss follow-up plans on existing transactions.
Gather and provide data for team leads to prepare periodic performance and marketing reports.
Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management, or a related field.
A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the financial sector.
Currently working with a Commercial Bank in Nigeria.
Currently within the Assistant Banking Officer (ABO) – Assistant Manager (AM) grade level.
Desired locations: Lagos, Akure, Asaba.
