Can He Sue The Hospital For Damages? Advise please

This is a true life event.
His wife delivered her twins on in a private hospital in Nigeria. All services duly paid for. However, transferring her from the theatre to her ward after the surgery that morning, at the ward, the hospital caused the wife serious injuries due to their nurse staff negligence and carelessnessand lack of focus.
They burned her two feet deeply with direct long time exposure to hot water bag while she was still on anaesthesia. She couldn't feel the heat until the feet were deeply cooked. The photos are gory, can't share here.
She has been in pain for almost a month, bed ridden and couldn't take care of her twins. The twins have been on formula instead of breast milk. It has been traumatic experience for the families. Both families surfer and the little days old kids suffered too.
Surgeries upon several plastic surgeries done by the hospital to minimise impact. Tissue graft surgery will still be done. She is getting better after almost a month. She's just trying to walk but difficult.
This has really costed the family a lot both financially, emotionally, psychologically and more.
They feel they never deserved this, and it is unfair as the owner of the hospital is a rich man who has abandoned the health facility in the hands of under experienced nurses at the detriment of people's lives.
How much damage shoudl the hospital pay?
Can the families sue?
