The Azaland - Privacy policy
This policy explains in detail how “Aza” or “The Azaland” along with its affiliated companies (hereinafter “we”, “us”, “our”, “The Azaland”, “https://www.azaland.com”) and Aza Software (hereinafter “they”, “them”, “their”, “site software”, “app.aza.ng”, “Aza Fintech”, “AppAza”) use any information collected during any session of usage by you (hereinafter “your information”).
Your information is collected via two ways. Firstly, by browsing “The Azaland” will cause the site software to create a number of cookies, which are small text files that are downloaded on to your computer’s web browser temporary files. The first two cookies just contain a user identifier (hereinafter “user-id”) and an anonymous session identifier (hereinafter “session-id”), automatically assigned to you by the site software. A third cookie will be created once you have browsed topics within “The Azaland” and is used to store which topics have been read, thereby improving your user experience.
We may also create cookies external to the Aza software whilst browsing “The Azaland”, though these are outside the scope of this document which is intended to only cover the pages created by the site software. The second way in which we collect your information is by what you submit to us. This can be, and is not limited to: posting as an anonymous user (hereinafter “anonymous posts”), registering on “The Azaland” (hereinafter “your account”) and posts submitted by you after registration and whilst logged in (hereinafter “your posts”).
Your account will at a bare minimum contain a uniquely identifiable name (hereinafter “your user name”), a personal password used for logging into your account (hereinafter “your password”) and a personal, valid email address (hereinafter “your email”). Your information for your account at “The Azaland” is protected by data-protection laws applicable in the country that hosts us. Any information beyond your user name, your password, and your email address required by “The Azaland” during the registration process is either mandatory or optional, at the discretion of “The Azaland”. In all cases, you have the option of what information in your account is publicly displayed. Furthermore, within your account, you have the option to opt-in or opt-out of automatically generated emails from the site software.
Your password is ciphered (a one-way hash) so that it is secure. However, it is recommended that you do not reuse the same password across a number of different websites. Your password is the means of accessing your account at “The Azaland”, so please guard it carefully and under no circumstance will anyone affiliated with “The Azaland”, Aza Fintech or another 3rd party, legitimately ask you for your password. Should you forget your password for your account, you can use the “I forgot my password” feature provided by the site software. This process will ask you to submit your user name and your email, then the site software will generate a new password to reclaim your account.
Advertising
Aza services may, in the future, be supported by advertising. Your personal information may be used to customize our advertising to make it more relevant and effective.
Personal Information of Children
Aza services are intended for an adult audience or for use by minors who have permission from a parent or legal guardian. It is not possible for us to determine if personal information is being provided by or on behalf of a minor. To the extent Aza receives personal information regarding a minor, it is understood that such personal information was supplied with the consent of said minor’s parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian may contact us at any time to request access, correction, restriction or deletion of the personal information of a minor.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Aza reserves the right to share the personal information collected when we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, and enforce applicable Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy, or other policies, including investigation of potential violations thereof, and also detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues or other potentially prohibited or illegal activities, or to protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Aza, our users or the public as required or permitted by law. We may share anonymized location data with other institutions for research purposes. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their marketing and advertising purposes without your consent. Aza takes appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. We restrict access to certain personal information to Aza admin who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
Accessing and Modifying Your Personal Information
You have the right to access your personal information, to modify same or to request that Aza correct, delete or restrict usage of your personal information as required by applicable law. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and maintain about you and to object to our processing and use of your personal information. You can ask us to update incorrect or incomplete personal information or to delete or restrict how we use your personal information. However, these rights are subject to applicable law and a request to stop processing your personal information or a withdrawal of consent to use or process your personal information may impact your ability to use Aza services. Aza will abide by any law which governs your right to access, modify or delete your personal information.
