AI - Artificial Intelligence - has many use cases today. It is a technological tool that has proven to have many applications and yet many more applications to come. It is one technology that while many appreciate its applications to make our life easier in many fields, including finance, many more warn of their dangers to humanity. My post today on Azà Hub (Aza.ng) is about what I see as the immediate and more potent dangers of employing this tool for human interactions, especially in written and spoken communication. Communication - written and oral - is an integral part of humanity. It is one thing that distinguishes us and makes us unique. Communication in itself, conveys actionable and sensitive information between the sender and the receiver. Effective communication is agreed to be complete only when the "sender" transmits the "intended information" to the "receiver" who in turn gives the accurate "intended feedback" back to the original sender.We agree that any break in transmission or adulteration or alterations along the way, be it of the original intended message or of the intended feedback will erode the effectiveness and accuracy of the communication. And as we know it, the transmitted information is so sensitive that they are actionable. And when and adulterated message gets passed, wrong and unintended interpretation and unintended action are likely to follow.This is the danger we are having romance with in a careless manner. But to understand my points today, let's discuss a little history of AI applications, an early warning we ignored as well as the applications of AI today in human communication- including the use of ChatGPT variants and more.COMMUNICATION - OUR LIFEBLOOD Communication drives all human interactions - be it in business, finance, war, love, family, peace, team, and all others. Our communication is our humanity lifeblood. And if anything threatens that lifeblood, we must be careful. Therefore, while many people feared that AI will replace us physically, I am of the strong opinion that AI intends to eat us inside out by destroying our lifeblood- communication efficiency EARLY USE - TEXT PREDICTIONS Check your Android keyboard on your phone and try sending a message be it on WhatsApp or other means like email, chat rooms and more. The Text Prediction feature was the primitive stage of Artificial Intelligence that was meant to make our life better. See the image below. The Text Prediction feature seemingly made typing easier because it appeared to take the words out of our mouth. It seemed it knew the "right" word that we wanted to use. But is that true? Is that really true? How could a artificial entity know a better word you needed to use to convey your accurate emotions and message?EARLY WARNING IGNOREDI swear I once read an article about 5 years ago written by an expert warning us about the dangers of reliance on the text Prediction feature on effective human communication. He argued that while we believe the machine was making life easier, it was actually deciding for us. I believed him strongly. I conducted an experiment. A. I typed a messaged of about 100 words with Text Prediction ON to convey my feelings to a friedmnd whom I hosted his family buy the children behaved poorly during the stay.B. I composed the same message with the Prediction feature turned OFF for the same purpose.Guess what I found! The wordings were different. While the machine predicted and suggested majority of the key words I used in the first instance based on its "learning", the other text conveyed my feelings more accurately. And Alas! Text Prediction affects only few keywords, yet I could see the dangers of using the wrong words on the overall meaning and emotions conveyed in the message. Now let's talk about when you allow the Artificial, non-living machine write the entire message! That's time bomb! Ticking time bomb. Because trust me, the message would not be intended and the reaction will certainly not be intended.AI THREATENS HUMANITY THROUGH COMMUNICATION DAMAGEAI and robotics will not replace humans physically, but MENTALLY!Application of AI in other fields of human endeavors could prove very useful, but we need to be careful with its application in human communication. In short, its making us less than human! Let me explain again, this time.using ChatGPT as case study.ChatGPT USE - A THREAT TO HUMANITY ChatGPT came like a storm - an application of AI to a form of human communication- written words. Written words are important and critical aspect of human communication. Written communication comes in form of books, letters, typed messages, articles, guides, marketing messages, welcome messages, advertisements and many more. These are critical areas people and LAZILY applying ChatGPT AI now. I am frightened because our communication is gradually losing its human emotions and originality and intentions.Yes, AI and ChatGPT will get better over time. But it will.never be any way near the capab...

Ai is good. Misapplication of AI tech is threat to humanity. :spoton:

Elon Musk has been and is still warning us about the dangers of Ai. It has it's advantages no doubt, but the rate at which it's dominating the world, i believe it will do more harm than good.

Elon Musk has been and is still warning us about the dangers of Ai. It has it's advantages no doubt, but the rate at which it's dominating the world, i believe it will do more harm than good.

I hope we listen before we kill us all.
